It’s finally the weekend!
We have lived in Germany for an entire week. Oh man. It feels like a LOT longer than that.
So we started out with yet ANOTHER pizza restaurant on Friday night! Yeah..I think I’ve had my fair share of pizza. It’s amazing, but I could really use a salad.
Saturday…OH SATURDAY! I cannot express enough just how excited I am that WE FOUND A HOUSE! We are currently in temporary housing and not even CLOSE to school. It has been quite an event every day to get the girls to school and then get home again. Actually..as of Friday..that hadn’t even happened. Wednesday through Friday, I took the girls to school and then hung out in my car ALL DAY LONG. I tried to come back to the apartment, but couldn’t find parking anywhere.
So needless to say, a house…BY SCHOOL…I can’t even begin to describe the excitement. The girls will all have their own rooms. Currently the five of us are staying in two beds…in TWO different apartments because they don’t have ONE big enough for the five of us. smh…
As of this weekend though, the apartment won’t be ready until March 1. Supposedly it’s ‘negotiable’. Which to me translates as $$$ or I guess €€€ here in Europe! We should know more by Wednesday!
After the house hunting trip, we had a lovely lunch at an authentic German restaurant with another 3M family that relocated to Germany from Brazil two days before we did. As we walked home down the Altstadt, we found this bubble man. Ava was in heaven. The look on her face was priceless.
Sunday took an interesting turn. My first time on the autobahn. Ah…speed. As there are NO grocery stores open in Germany on Sundays, we headed to The Netherlands to see what we could find there. And we found a lot! Grocery store, Decathlon (!!), and a toy store. Ok..there was a lot more than that…but that’s about all this crew was up for.
Lunch…was not a winner. They got the fries right..but the burger was more like an oversized breakfast sausage on a bun. And not the good ones.
Littlest found something to keep her entertained.

We found a few unique things at the grocery store. Sprinkles in bulk and a carton of three eggs. I mean…who does that feed??
Intertoys was a hit and I was reminded of the upcoming birthdays in the family.

And then we had to get home. Back to the autobahn. 106mph and we had people passing us. Agh.

After all that stress I needed a run. My first in AGES. And it ended up being my 2nd fastest 1-3 mile run EVER. Crazy-town! I think it was all the people and the cool weather. Not sure but it was amazing.

And finally…dinner at our apartment. We have had enough of eating out. We are all so sick of it. Unfortunately with our tiny kitchen (and refrigerator!), eating out is often necessary. But what I’m REALLY looking forward to is being able to eat at a table again! This is not how we usually do things…

Love the house and all the photos ❤️
Bummer about the bubble water incident—but seriously funny for those reading it. 😜 BTW I hate bubbly water as well—tastes like salt to me…

Thanks! It helps to blog about it and find the humor in it. I was not so thrilled at the time…but makes for good stories later 😉
